(1 Corinthians 1: 20-29) Let all who may wish to do so honor and bow down to men. Christians honor and bow down to God and Christ. The purpose of a just government, as well declared by the Constitution of the United States, is: To "insure domestic tranquillity". There has never been a religious, political organization on earth that has set up a government that ‘insured domestic tranquillity’; there has never been a government that gave lasting peace to the people; there is no reason to believe that human creatures can establish such a government, because they have proceeded and continue to go contrary to God's law. MAKESHIFT The leading religious institution of the world, acting by and through the head man thereof, has tried to apply the theocratic or heavenly rule not only to religious organizations, but also to the political and commercial organizations, and this has been done by misapplying the Scriptures.
